De-Constructing "Church", The Building is a Church? Part 1

De-Constructing "Church", Part 1
👉"I will build MY ***CHURCH?***? (Mat. 16)
-rory moore

Church is a hard word to "de-program" from, as I am likewise processing my own indoctrination from a building to a people congregation, and what Christ had in mind.
Did He really envision buildings with various Names, steeples, impressive architecture, or even the glitzy lights and smoke that enhance the modern "church" experience?

With 2,000 years of building tradition and the typical assembly, upon experiencing growth, usually and quickly thinks "we need a building". The building becomes the center, identity, and gathering place of an assembly, and an institution with a new name and identity is created.

But the history of the word "church" is from pagan architecture, not scripture,
👉 thus Jesus did not speak of "church" in terms of a building, nor did the disciples.
"Church" is a term MIS-translated by the KJV/Roman-influenced translators, and "synagogues" were buildings the Jews built to assemble in, however God never told them to build them.

EKKLESIA (mis-translated as "church":
I looked into it, it is a feminine noun, used 111 times.
"Definition:
-a gathering of citizens called out from their homes into some public place,
-an assembly

-an assembly of the people convened at the public place of the council for the purpose of deliberating in the assembly of the Israelites
-any gathering or throng of men assembled by chance,
in a Christian sense
-an assembly of Christians gathered for worship in a religious meeting

👉👉👉 -a company of Christian, or of those who, hoping for eternal salvation through Jesus Christ, observe their own religious rites, hold their own religious meetings, and manage their own affairs, according to regulations prescribed for the body for order's sake

-the whole body of Christians scattered throughout the earth
-the assembly of faithful Christians already dead and received into heaven"

As the gospel spread in Acts, not one church building was mentioned although they often met in homes and in public, and Paul often went into the synagogues to preach to un-converted Jews the message who Jesus is:

Acts 9: 20 and immediately he (Paul) began to proclaim Jesus in the synagogues, saying, “He is the Son of God......22) Jesus is the Christ".

"church" is a term MIS-translated by the KJV/Roman-influenced translators, and "synagogues" were buildings the Jews built to assemble in, but God never told them to build.

👉It was David and Solomon, who initiated a temple building in Jerusalem, but the LORD had directed a mobile tabernacle.
2 Sam. **7** is fascinating with that in mind, and you may want to read that..
So we forward to ACTS 7, and here is Stephen saying:
46 David found favor in God’s sight, and asked that he might find a dwelling place for the God of Jacob. 47 But it was Solomon who built a house for Him.

👉👉48 However, the Most High does not dwell in houses made by human hands; as the prophet says:
49 ‘Heaven is My throne, And earth is the footstool of My feet;
👉 What kind of house will you build for Me?’ says the Lord, ‘Or what place is there for My repose?
50 ‘Was it not My hand which made all these things?’

Since God does *not* need or live in a building, nor did Jesus direct His followers to build them, WHAT else might we find regarding the words "church", "tabernacle", "house", and "temple???
More truth about church vs ekklesia here

👉👉👉  In Part 2 you will see....."the Most High does not dwell in houses made by human hands; as the prophet says"... as we work to de-construct what man has built.
