Of Ghosts and Spirits, Angels and Resurrected Body

 Of Ghosts and spirits.

A scripture perspective on the spirit (aka ghost), the part of us bears the image of the physical. An image is a "copy" of the original and man was created "in the image of God".

The scriptures say we are body, soul, AND spirit.

A saved person's spirit returns to God.

(at the end of this post I mention "familiar spirits", which are lying and deceiving spirits that appear or imitate someone as a "ghost", or "alien", demons, and other spirit manifestations that we have authority over through Christ..).

There are likewise angels of God given as protection and messengers. We can also "test the spirits to know whether they be of God" John wrote.. and again,

Hebrews 1:14

Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to do service for the sake of them that shall inherit salvation?

Paul said their is a "natural body" (physical), and there is a spiritual body. 1Cor 15. 49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

it is raised a spiritual body.

:44 If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body"

𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐇𝐢𝐦𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐢𝐬 𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐄, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭, 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 who 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 is, and 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐬𝐭, even after the "tent" of "house" is dissolved.

At the resurrection, the spirit and an eternal physical body are united. As Jesus exemplified when His spirit returned into his dead body and *resurrected* into a new, immortal body!! \o/ Praise to God.

𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬' 𝐧𝐞𝐰 resurrected 𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐠𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐬, 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐫, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐫, 𝐲𝐞𝐭 𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬..

Luke 20:36

for neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.

The lost souls in the 2nd resurrection are combined as a corporate "body of death" that go into the lake of fire for destruction.

Death and destruction of the natural body is not the cessation of existence, for the lost without Christ it is an on-going destruction where the fire is not quenched. The spirit-soul separate from the physical body.

Some of us that experienced that separation in a trauma and others that died and came back can testify of that.

Rev. 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought the signs in his sight, wherewith he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast and them that worshipped his image: they two were

cast alive into the lake of fire that burns with brimstone:

"𝒊𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒂 𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒍 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚. 𝑰𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒂 𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚, 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒍𝒔𝒐 𝒂 𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒍 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚"

Rev. 20:4-6

Rev. 20:14 And death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, even the lake of fire.

15 And if any was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire.

Note:

as with the harlot church, the body of Christ, the "wheat", the "body" of the beast, the nation of Israel, ALL are "corporate" bodies <Christ called them bundles> of people.

The "bundles".

Matthew 13:30

Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather up first the tares,

and bind them in *bundles* to burn them;

but gather the wheat into my barn.

And they shall go forth, and look upon the dead bodies of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring to all flesh.

Mark 9:48

where their worm dies not, and the fire is not quenched.

"𝒊𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒂 𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒍 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚. 𝑰𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒂 𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚, 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒍𝒔𝒐 𝒂 𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒍 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚"

Notice the dead go into fire WITH two hands...

Mark 9:43

And if thy hand cause thee to stumble, cut it off: it is good for thee to enter into life maimed, rather

than having thy two hands to go into hell, into the unquenchable fire.

"𝒊𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒂 𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒍 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚. 𝑰𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒂 𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚, 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒍𝒔𝒐 𝒂 𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒍 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚"

Here is another veiled witness to the "beast", as an un-regenerated man..

Ecclesiastes 3:21

Who knows the spirit of man, whether it goes upward, and the spirit of the beast, whether it goes downward into the earth?

"into the earth" is also witnessed by words like "pit", "ABYSS" "under the earth, "lower parts of the earth", etc.

Korah and company were swallowed up "alive" and taken down into the lower parts of the earth. -not a 6 foot deep grave.

Samuel came up from there also.

"𝒊𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒂 𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒍 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚. 𝑰𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒂 𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚, 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒍𝒔𝒐 𝒂 𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒍 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚"

Jesus went there while his body was in the tomb, then he led the redeemed saints UP to God, the first fruits wave offering by him as "high Priest".

*"familiar spirits":

These are the ghosts, aliens, demons, orbs, and other manifestations of fallen spirits that interface with our physical world.

Angels:

The same is true of angels which are spirit-beings and look like men. "some have entertained angels unaware" and they are sent as messengers and have authority to watch over the children of God.

Hebrews 1:14

Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to do service for the sake of them that shall inherit salvation?

Some will disagree with this, I know the arguments. For others the Holy Spirit will witness what is truth. God bless you to receive it.

Prophecy is not always predictive, it is often revelatory and inspired to give comfort, encouragement, and faith. That being said, I want to bless you with what has been given to me to share with you. I think you will be blessed and it you want to share it that is fine with me and the Lord that gave it. Hearing The Voice of the Father. ..............

"As I speak to my people through my words, they learn of Me by the scriptures.

But as I speak individually to each one of you uniquely by my Spirit, it is because I have made each of you uniquely.

When I speak to you individually as your Father, it is because I know you and I know you better than you know you.

I know your past, present, and future in the now moment. I knew the choices you make before you made them, and their consequences, whether of My Will or not.

I made you each different and unique and I despise the religion that seeks to conform you to them instead of conforming you to Jesus.

I made your character and thought patterns and gave you the choice of which are good and which are to be rejected.

All that is in the world, the voices of media, religion, and opinions seek to drown out MY Word and My Voice.

I know them that oppose you and as I love you, I love them.

Your adversary is their adversary.

He seeks to devour you and them and he does it through words.

In order to live in the time remaining, the need to discern what voice you are hearing will save you and others from harm and destruction.

Satan is a wizard and his voices go throughout the world and fill the air and space.

All that is of this world is darkness and deception.

I am speaking to My children but many do not listen, instead they listen to other voices and by them they are deceived.

MY WORD will judge them that turn you away from what My Spirit says.

What I give you is life and Spirit, and My Spirit produces the fruits I desire in your life."

Prophecy: YOUR WORLD IS PASSING AWAY

 Many of God's people would and could prophesy by the Holy Spirit if they simply would listen and hear the voice of Jesus who said in John 10, "My sheep hear My voice...".

"... and my sons and daughters shall prophesy..."

Most prophesying is simply us giving utterance to what the Lord says. He is not chatty or trivial.
 He will reveal, warn, correct, build up in faith, encourage, strengthen, and speak through His vessels in what Paul said to the churches in 1Corinthians 14:39 (ASV) 
  Wherefore, my brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.

This is from 10-1-13
What you once knew is passing away

"My covenant and my testament is only found among those of my people who believe the promises and live in them.
Many profess to know Me but they do not, they know another god who is one of their own making and ideas. 

Because so many who are called by my name have put their trust in the idols of this world,
I am giving them over to their own idolatrous deceptions. 

If I cannot reason with them through My words, how then can you?

My people are divided, and divided. The division in the land is a sign of what has happened in the kingdom of God.
I am coming to prepare a place for those who will seek Me in the shelter of My ark, the ark of the Covenant. (IN CHRIST).

Those will I hide as in a cleft in the Rock because they shelter in Me as they recognize the time and the season.

The separations are being made through the Sword of My Spirit
but the sword of men will come also and make evident the sheep from the goats. 

You are not as one of them, hear Me people,
come out from them, come out of her, flee your own Babylon! 

Hear My voice, I am the True Shepherd of the sheep, the thief comes to kill and destroy,
but he comes as an angel of light! 

I am grieved for those that must fall and take no pleasure from that, I am love and I am mercy and my arms have been outstretched to a gainsaying people.

What you once knew is passing away, all that pertains to life as you knew it as I prepare those for an entrance into My kingdom."

In April 2024 this word is bearing profound truth.

The Lord warns us:
The "angel of Light  comes through many and is found behind pulpits and microphones.  The spirit of antichrist performs unchecked by those I commanded to "prove all".
My sheep rather than "prove all",  they believe all and they trust all. By this they are deceived. 

What is truth when it has one line which is not true?
What is a little leaven to the whole lump?
Words are leaven and words of truth are not to be mingled.

If one does not put out the leaven, then the Passover is polluted.
"But the setting is so beautiful!", they say, and the words sound so sweet.
Did I not say "MY WORDS are Spirit and they are life"?

What then are their words when they are the words, opinions, and ideas about MY words and not what was written for your admonition?
Without discernment my people are made comfortable in deceit and are taken captive.
When I call, they look to man.

A mind clouded by religious church men obscures truth, and truth is veiled, the veil becomes blindness. The men and women who usurp my authority use their position for self, the people are comforted by deceit and content to follow them.

If a man or woman turn to me with their whole heart and a willingness to repent, then I can lead them and make them as my disciple. 

To follow me (i.e. Christ Jesus) in meekness and lowliness,  yet without fear, and I will speak to each of you and reveal my true nature to you. My ways are not the ways of the pulpit princes. Do you know their end?
They will lose all, the accolades and unjust gain will be stripped away, some by violence. 

Do not say in your heart "what happened before will not happen now",
I tell you that My hand and a sword are already upon this life and this world, armies are marshalled and marching, driven by the spirits demons, and the churches are filled with the dead and sleeping.

Is that too strong to hear? 
What then when you see it as others are?
My Will is for all to repent from the depths of your hearts that I may show forth mercy and justice.  

The gods of SELF-WILL and material comfort lead away from Me.
Are these less deceptive than an idol of stone painted and decorated to represent that which I detest? 

Proverbs 7, A Double Play on Ministers Morality ..

 

A Proverb and a revelation
Proverbs 7, and we thought it was only a morality story..
How "naive" we were!

I looked at some of the key words and *wow*.

"𝙩𝙤𝙤 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙩𝙝,"

The elder speaks:
Prov. 7:6 For at the window of my *house (*His House is holy)

I (wisdom) looked out through my lattice, (God's Word)

A young man lacking sense, (unawares-lacking understanding)

8 Passing through the street near her corner (tower. steeple);
𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 *𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆,

(𝑯𝒆𝒓 𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆: temple-prison, a place of worship that entraps)

9 In the twilight, 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈,
(he does not have full "Light", the personal revelation of scripture and the Spirit of God)

In the middle 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔.
(the "evening" leads him to the darkness, no longer in the Light of the gospel)

10 And behold, 𝒂 𝒘𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒏 comes to meet him,
𝑫𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒔 𝒂 𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒐𝒕 and cunning of heart.
11 She is boisterous and rebellious,
Her feet do not remain at home;

22 Suddenly he follows her
As an ox goes to the slaughter,
Or as one in fetters to the discipline of a fool,

("many". Many shall come in His name and deceive many.

(her "house-prison" is a temple, the way is the Broad way,
Sheol is the place of the lost dead, aka hell.
Some will say grave, but that is another subject.

Some of us were the "naive" young man, I would say the majority.
I was one. I got my ministerial credentials in one of her houses.

Some of us overcame her, she returns for mention in Revelation 2, and is called "Jezebel". Later in Revelation 17 and 18 she is revealed as "Mystery Babylon the Great"..

Babylon the Great, the mother of harlots, becomes the church system with its' confusion of doctrines, buildings, organizations, ministries, all seductively calling people to her "house" while all claim Christ as husband.

Hence the holy Spirit says "Come out of her *my* people..."

You may be surprised at what a careful examination of God's Word tells us.

Acts 1:2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments to the apostles whom he had chosen:

 Acts 1:13 
And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphæus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.
At this point, there are 11 named as apostles.

#12 Matthias replaced Judas.
Acts 1:26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles. 

#13 Paul  
#14 Barnabbas. 
Acts 13:2 While they were serving the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set Barnabas and Saul apart for Me for the work to which I have called them.”  Then, when they had fasted, prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.  ⁴ So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit they went.

 Acts 14:4 confirmed: But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of this, they rent their clothes

58 plurals regarding the "apostles": 
"we" "our" "us", used with the context of “apostles” are found in 1Thessalonians
1Thessalonians 1:1  Paul, and Silvanus, and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace.

(9 remember, brethren, our labor and travail: working night and day, that we might not burden any of you, we preached to you the gospel of God.

ch. 2:4)    but even as we have been approved of God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God who prove our hearts. 5)    For neither at any time were we found using words of flattery, as ye know, nor a cloak of covetousness, God is witness; 6)    nor seeking glory of men, neither from you nor from others, when we might have claimed authority as apostles  (plural) of Christ.

Again, Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy in 2Thessalonians:3
(6  Now we command you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from every brother or sister who leads a disorderly life and not one in accordance with the tradition which you received from us.  
7 For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example, because we did not act in an undisciplined way among you, ⁸ nor did we eat anyone’s bread without paying for it, but with labor and hardship we working night and day so that we would not be a burden to any of you; ⁹ not because we do not have the right to this, but in order to offer ourselves as a role model for you, so that you would follow our example. 
10 For even when we were with you, we used to give you this order:
 if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either.  
¹¹ For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies.

In 2 Thessalonians chapter 3, there are 14 plurals used in context of the apostles ministry.
-And 24 plurals total. “—because our testimony to you was believed.”
And in 1Thess. 2:6 “as apostles…” :
there are a total of 58 plural references from them, Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, as “apostles”,  from Paul the writer.

 I see solid evidence of 16 apostles through these passages, perhaps there are others such as Apollos?

1 Corinthians 3:5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
1 Corinthians 3:22 Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;
1 Cor 4:6  And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written

#18 Luke an apostle. The writer of Acts. Paul's companion who *may* have replaced Barnabas when Barnabas and Paul separated later in the Acts narrative. Luke was in the field with Paul ministering.
In Acts he affirms traveling with Paul

#19 Epaphroditus 
Philippians 2:25 But I thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother and fellow worker and fellow soldier, who is also your *messenger and minister..
*The translators should have said “apostle” here because the Greek word is “apostolos”.

"apostolos": noun-masculine.
Definition: a delegate, messenger, one sent forth with orders
specifically applied to the twelve apostles of Christ
in a broader sense applied to other eminent Christian teachers
of Barnabas of Timothy and Silvanus.

Titus: #21
2Cor. 8:23 about Titus, he is my partner and fellow helper concerning you. Or if our brethren be inquired about, they are the *messengers of the churches and the glory of Christ. *apostolos.

John Mark #22
Acts 12:25 And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem when they had fulfilled their ministry, and took with them John, whose surname was Mark.  (this is not John the son of Zebedee)

#23 Judas
#24 Silas.
Both were  sent, both were prophets (as were Paul and Barnbbas before they were sent out)

Acts 15:27/32/40 We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same by mouth.
Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and strengthened them. Paul chose Silas and departed, being commended by the brethren unto the grace of God.

If this is accurate, we have 24 apostles who are the elders in Revelation 4:4, 4:10 and several more mentions.

"And round about the throne were four and twenty seats; and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment, and they had on their heads crowns of gold."

Junia?  Some assert "Junia" was an apostle.

Let's test.

1. apostle is "apostolos" in the Greek, a masculine noun. Like husband, brother, prophet.

2. Paul credited Junia and Andronica as fellow prisoners, kinsmen, and that they were "IN CHRIST" before him.

This means they were serving the Lord before Paul's conversion.

There is no mention of either Andronicus or Junia named as apostles ever.

3. Paul and Barnabbas were the first apostles added and called apostles in Acts 13. Prior to them, there is no other apostles named after Acts 1 where the Eleven were mentioned, and they cast lots to replace Judas who fell. Two MEN were selected and the Lord's lot fell upon Matthias.

Acts 1:23

they appointed two: Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.

24 And they prayed and said, “Thou, Lord, who knows the hearts of all men, show us which of these two Thou hast chosen,

25 that he may take part of this ministry and apostleship from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.”

26 And they cast their lots, and the lot fell upon Matthias;

and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

-it seems quite the stretch to turn Junia into an apostle based on this one phrase:

"Junias, my kinsmen, and my fellow-prisoners, who are of note among the apostles,

who also have been in Christ before me."

With no prior record of Junia being called an apostle, and no reference of her being one in any other mention of the names of the other apostles like Barnabbas, Epaphroditus, Silvanus, Timothy, and Lukes writing in Acts,

James 3:1 Do not be many of you teachers, my brethren, knowing that we (teachers) shall receive heavier judgment.

... a good friend has been corresponding with several Texas ministers that teach Christians should "tithe" to the church, i.e., the 10% of members income should go to them or the ministry.

-His questions and challenges have alienated him from people there. “HOW could our pastor be wrong” as they explain tithing to the church?

---But my friend found the church leaders will not answer his questions nor have an honest dialog with him.... Instead they do "damage control" and seek to confirm the error by fraudulently mis-teaching God's Word, or charge non-tithers with selfish withholding.

“Dave” was focusing more on communion yesterday when talking about Gen. 14, then talked about the tithing aspect.
 Melchisedek brought out the bread and wine when meeting with Abram, so Dave said that was like communion. I don’t see how he came to that, but whatever.  I need to add that he did say that we’re not under the law to tithe in the NT now, but he made it a point to say that Abram gave ALL because he had faith that his God would provide. So now the 10% went to ALL.

  <because he questioned them> I do believe that they now understand that tithing is not biblical, but they’re doing damage control to still make people believe they have to give.  For example, in the service that I sent you from 1/31, “T” starts out that we don’t have to tithe, but if a person has a problem giving 10% to God, then I have concern for their soul.

Here is my response to my friends email, and I give him credit for being brave enough to question the pastor and his associate ministers:

Dear bro. ------

Why question a persons soul over 10%?? It is Christ’s nature and fruit of the Holy Spirit to give to others.
Why pick 10% out of the air when that was never taught by the apostles or given to any church in the epistles or Acts?

Abraham tithed?
 Why didn’t Abram record a tithe on his wealth in the context of Genesis 13?
(2) "Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold".

Why didn’t Abraham tithe on the gifts in Gen. 20:14?   And Abimelech took sheep and oxen, and men-servants and women-servants, and gave them unto Abraham, and restored him Sarah his wife.
15   And Abimelech said, Behold, my land is before you. Live where it pleases thee. 16   And ... he said, Behold, I have given <Abraham> a thousand pieces of silver. (silver and gold is money)

If 10% was a universal amount from everyone, all the time, why then did God only ordain agricultural tithing in the law from Sinai?

Was the temple tax a 10% tithe?
Exodus 30:13      This they shall give, every one that passes among them that are numbered, half a shekel after the shekel of the sanctuary: (a shekel is twenty gerahs:) a half shekel shall be the offering of the LORD. 15 The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when they give an offering to the LORD, to make an atonement for your souls.

So when they try to impose a 10% “measure”, they cannot go to the apostles who wrote Christ’s commands, they must refer to the covenant that was “disannulled” at the cross (Heb. 7), the “ordinances blotted out” (Col 3, Eph. 2:15).

What they are doing is sowing that 10% law of men and reinforcing the error among people that think the 10% is God's set amount and teaching performance to a duty.. (as we know).

How much better it is to have the Lord direct us in our stewardship over the 100% He owns and what He has allowed us to steward? 

We ourselves have heard the Lord MANY times direct us in giving telling us to whom and how much or what He wanted us to do. In doing so, we have been very blessed.

-Tithing robs the people of this blessing, it robs those that could benefit from our giving, and robs the ministers of truth. It corrupts them into believing the tithes should go to them.

-Tithing robs people of the blessing of giving in secret and robs those that have needs.

-It robs bishops and ministers of the blessing of honest labor and setting an example for other men and often leads to a self-indulgent lifestyle.. It appeals to the greed within the hearts of ministers who grasp the fact that more tithers = more $$$.

-Even Pastors T, D, and J must know and have observed that. We sure did with many ministers in our church association.

FYI: Acts 20.. Paul speaking to the *bishops*:
33 I have desired no one’s silver or gold or clothing.
34 You yourselves know that >>>these hands of mine provided for my needs and the needs of those with me.
35 By all these things, I have shown you that by WORKING IN THIS WAY *WE* (ministers) must help the weak,  and remember the words of the Lord Jesus that he himself said, >>> ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Examples of Spirit filled saints not tithing:

Acts 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken wherein they were gathered together; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

32  And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and soul: and not one [of them] said that aught of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

Again, Spirit filled saints not tithing..

Acts 2:44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common; 45 and they sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all, according as any man had need.

no tithes here either. Acts 4:34 For neither was there among them any that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,

35 and laid them at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto each, according as any one had need.

 If we do not go to God with our questions and seek *Him* for Truth, we will be deceived by our faith in ministers, teachers, church, denomination, priest, pope, politician, and by our own depraved nature.

Why didn't the Levite Barnabbas just tithe?
Acts 4:36 Joseph, who was also called by the apostles Barnabas (which means son of encouragement), a Levite, a native of Cyprus, Act 4:37 sold a field that belonged to him and brought the money and laid it at the apostles' feet. 

Why did Ananias and his wife die for giving a “portion”?

Act 5:1 But a man named Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, sold a piece of property, :2 and with his wife's knowledge he kept back for himself some of the proceeds and brought only a part of it and laid it at the apostles' feet. I don't believe they were required to give all the proceeds, but what they did was lie.

-And the apostles did not keep the proceeds for themselves, it was distributed among others.

 Why didn't Paul mention a tithe when collecting for the Saints in Jerusalem?
 1Co 16:1 Now concerning the collection for the saints: as I directed the churches of Galatia, so you also are to do.

1Co 16:2 On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper, so that there will be no collecting when I come.

You see, it is the nature and fruit of Christ to give.. Not just from finances. We give from what we are given and accumulate.. Yet we are not under compulsion.. We give in love and compassion to real people and real needs, not just a dutiful feeding of a plate being ritually passed.

 The only excuse for tithing a tenth might be under Luke 6:38   give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, shall they give into your bosom. For with what measure you use it shall be measured to you again. But even here Jesus did not suggest 10% as a baseline.

We might compare the doctrine of tithing as taught in churches today with other doctrines taught in churches today using similar reasoning and twisting:
"Transubstantiation" the act of a Catholic priest in magically turning the "host" into the actual body and blood of Christ.
"all are saved, nobody goes to hell",
"ye are gods": men become god-like.

What money tithing has in common with these commonly believed teachings is that all of them sound religiously correct, but can only be taught as such by perverting the scripture.

Tithing UNMASKED

 

In one of our many tithe discussions when the money tithe proponents are confronted with truth after truth why they are in error, the last stand some attempt to use is the reasoning "where did the apostles say 'do not tithe' ".

The Truth.

Here is the last place where tithing is mentioned in the Bible:

Heb. 7: 5 And they indeed of the sons of Levi that receive the priest's office have commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren.

7:8 And here men that die receive tithes; but there one, of whom it is witnessed that he lives.

...................

1. The Hebrews context refers to the lawful Old Testament tithes which were not from wages or income, they were agricultural.

2. The Levite priests had a written "commandment" to take tithes from God's people in the Old Covenant.

Now the answer to the "where does it say not to tithe? question.

3. vs.18 there is a **disannulling** >>> of the foregoing commandment <<< because of its weakness and unprofitableness

What was the stated "'foregoing commandment"?

Ans.

It is "the sons of Levi that receive the priest's office have commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren."

So the money tithe doctrine is shown to be false, phony and wrong even when a "straw man" argument is used.

"disanulling": a continuing action of canceling.

disannulled:

DISANNULLED, . Annulled; vacated; made void.

DISANNULLING, Making void; depriving of authority or binding force.

DISANNULMENT, The act of making void; as the disannulment of a law or decree.
