13, Mans' Rebellion and Hidden Bible Messages

Unlucky13 and Hidden Messages

-by rory moore

13” is a number often associated with rebellion, superstition, and "bad luck", but some hair-raising passages in scripture more than hint of the dark side lurking among the contexts.

Revelation 13 and Isaiah 13 are two chapters filled with spiritual rebellion but let's counter that with another numbering "coincidence".
In a study where I compiled scripture phrases I discovered another numeric example and I have found many intriguing number points of interest:

Using 1 John 4:9 By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him", I found these

8 times the phrase“ begotten son” was found in the New Testament.
8 is symbolic of  “new beginnings”, in the New Testament.  The alpha.
A sabbath week of 7 days is followed by a new week, i.e. the 8th day.
Jesus is author of the NEW Testament, the new birth, a new beginning and a new Covenant.

The PHRASE: SON OF GOD:
KJV I Found usages 48 times.
Six is the number of a man, times 8 the new beginnings  man
And 13 times was used when spoken by the devil and or unbelievers. (13 = rebellion).

Leviticus 18:22 yields: Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind: it is abomination
18= 6+6+6.    22=11x2.  11 is disorder, chaos. 18/2=9 judgment.
  1+8+2+2=13  13=rebellion

Who cannot help notice this “13” in the Bible? (NASB) The Beast from the Sea
Revelation 13: 13 And the dragon stood on the sand of the seashore.
15: Then I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns were ten diadems, and on his heads were blasphemous names.
16 It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads,17 so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.
18 This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. [i.e] That number is 666.
===> ch. 13:18:  The number 18 is three 6’s!

Revelation 2:12-13  “And to the angel of the church in Pergamum write:
The One who has the sharp two-edged sword says this:
13 ‘I know where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is; and you hold fast My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days of Antipas, My witness, My faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.

Aside from the implications of that, we also have this in Isaiah 13:13 (ASV)
The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see. vs. 13 Therefore I will make the heavens to tremble, and the earth shall be shaken out of its place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.

The “king of Babylon revealed in Isaiah 14:13 to be satan:
Isa 14:12-14   “How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who have weakened the nations!
13 “But you said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of assembly In the recesses of the north.
14 ‘I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’

Isa. 28:13 Therefore shall the word of the Lord be to them precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line unto line, line unto line, there a little and there a little:  that they may go and fall backward, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.

Jeremiah 2:13    For my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the fountain of living waters, and hewed out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
( the cisterns of man made doctrinal walls without the Spirit of God)

A Judgment is here in Ezekiel 13, against the spiritual leaders among God’s people!

Ezekiel 13 (ASV) 13:1  And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
2 Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say to them that prophesy out of their own heart, Hear ye the word of the Lord:
3 The Lord says, Woe to the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!

Why? vs 10 Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there is no peace; and when one builds up a wall, behold, they cement it with un-tempered mortar:

In Genesis, coincidence?
3:13   And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
And Gen. 6 is another number that finds linkage to 13,  6 being the number of a man who was made on the 6th day:
Genesis   6:13  And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
Genesis 13:13  Now the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners against the Lord exceedingly.

In the 13th chapter of Numbers there is a great sin of a faithless “evil report” of unbelief against the land God had given them:
Numbers 13:31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.
13:32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eats up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.

Deut. 13:13 Describes rebellion and false leaders turning people after other ‘gods’, even later shown as men who were leaders over Israel! See John 10:34

DT.13:13 Certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known;
 (
today men and denominations have become those “gods” (exalted Titled men that people put on pedestals and esteemed as special)

In  Deut. 28 both blessings and curses are given. This was the antidote to sin and rebellion and
the first 13 verses are the blessing for obedience!
But immediately after the remedy for sin and reward for faithful obedience, the curse for not observing and disobedience begins!
14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
16 Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.

Judges, the 7th book, chapter 13 begins:
Judges 13:13 (KJV)  And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the Lord; and the Lord delivered them into the hand of the Philistines forty years.
1Sam. 3:13  For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knows; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not.

1Sam. 13: 13 And Samuel said to Saul, You have done foolishly: you have not kept the commandment of the Lord thy God, which he commanded: ...

2Sam. 13 is the story of spiritual and physical fornication, lust, revenge, murder.

2 Samuel 13 (KJV) 13 And it came to pass after this, that Absalom the son of David had a fair sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her.

1 Kings 13  is the enigmatic account of an errant prophet who listened to man rather than holding fast to God’s command! But not only that, the prophet had prophesied against a self-willed king, so there is a doubling of judgments:

13 :1 And, behold, there came a man of God out of Judah by the word of the Lord to Bethel: and Jeroboam (the king) stood by the altar to burn incense.
2 And he cried against the altar in the word of the Lord, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith the Lord; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men's bones shall be burnt upon thee.
3 And he gave a sign the same day, saying, This is the sign which the Lord has spoken; Behold, the altar shall be rent, and the ashes that are upon it shall be poured out.

Also note vs. 33 the king appoints who he wanted to serve as a minister:
After this Jeroboam returned not from his evil way, but made again he made priests of the high places from among all of the people. any who would, he ordained that there might be priests of the high places

In 1Chronicles, the 13th OT book, in the 13th chapter, we find an “antitype” for sin and rebellion again!  The “ark” of the testimony and covenant comes home, as the people repent:
13 So David brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of *Obededom the Gittite. *means “bloody servant
14 And the ark of God remained with the family of Obededom in his house three months. And the Lord blessed the house of Obededom, and all that he had.

In 2 Chronicles 13, we find war between Israel and Judah as the King of Israel rebelled!   In verse 6, (6=the number of a man, )
6   Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, is risen up, and has rebelled against his lord (i.e. human government & ruler).

Neh 13: 18 Did not your fathers thus, and did not our God bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city? yet ye bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the sabbath.
13:26  Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? yet among many nations was there no king like him, and he was beloved of his God, and God made him king over all Israel:                  nevertheless even him did foreign women cause to sin.
13x2=26. Rebellion doubled. (foreign women are a symbolic type of the harlot churches)

Here is a shocker in Esther:
3: 12 Then were the king's scribes called in the first month, on the thirteenth day thereof; and there was written according to all that Haman commanded to the king's satraps, and to the governors that were over every province, and to the princes of every people, to every province according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language; in the name of king Ahasuerus was it written, and it was sealed with the king's ring.
3:13: And letters were sent by posts into all the king's provinces,
to destroy, to slay
, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even upon the thirteenth [day] of the twelfth month

Have you noticed the use of hand signs by politicians, entertainers, and even Christian leaders as they speak in symbolism to those "in the know"?
Prov. 6:12 A worthless person, a man of iniquity, Is he that walks with a perverse mouth;
13 .... That makes signs with his fingers

A pattern of 13.
Matt 5:13  "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

Mark 7:13   making void the word of God by your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things ye do.

Luke 6:13  And bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil [one.]

John 13: 18     I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled: He that eats my bread lifted up his heel against me.
(21 When Jesus had said this, He became troubled in spirit, and testified and said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, that one of you will betray Me.
===> VS 18:  18 is 3 sixes! Judas was antichrist.

Acts 9: 13 Then Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many of this man, and how much evil he has done to Thy saints in Jerusalem.

Acts 13 has very powerful implications:

In Acts 13:26   (26=13x2 rebellion doubled) Paul addresses the Jews and gentile-Jewish proselytes,
Cp.  Isa. 26:13  Lord, our God, lords other than you have ruled us; only because of you can we call upon your name.

Acts 13 context: “Brethren, sons of Abraham’s family, and those among you who fear God, to us the message of this salvation has been sent.
Here is their rebellion and their judgment:
(46) Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and said, It was necessary that the word of God be spoken to you first; since you repudiate it and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we are turning to the Gentiles.
47 For so the Lord has commanded us (apostles), ‘I have placed you as a light for the Gentiles, That You may bring salvation to the end of the earth.’”

Romans 8:13 for if ye live after the flesh, ye must die;  but if by the Spirit ye put to death the deeds of the body, ye shall live  (8 is the number of a new beginning)

Romans 13  (NASB)  1  Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.  2 Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves. 3 For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil.

2cor 11:13  For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.

Galatians 2:13 The rest of the Jews joined him in hypocrisy, with the result that even Barnabas was carried away by their hypocrisy.

Job 18:   (6+6+6) And Job is the 18th  (6+6+6) Book of the Bible
: 13   The members of his body shall be devoured, [Yes], the first-born of death shall devour his members.
: 18   He shall be driven from light into darkness, And chased out of the world.

Revelation 6:13     And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, even as a fig tree casts her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. The stars are representative of believers that fall away from Christ.

Remember six is the number of man, 13 symbolizes rebellion)

As I read the Bible, I began to note and highlight the above in my notes, and I share these with you.
