De-constructing Church part 4 Trapped by the system

De-constructing Church part 4
-rory moore

If you are reading these, does it surprise you that the typical church model, a building centered, hierarchy-structured organization, Incorporated, centrally-directed from a headquarters, or run by a family, run by a Corporate Board, or ruled by a Titled individual are ALL foreign to God's Word?

Does it mean everybody that is part of that lost or without Christ? ==>>> An emphatic NO! is the answer to that.

-BUT the confusion, conflicting doctrines, abuse, and idolatry with men WILL hinder, tend to bondage, and keep us from growing in the grace and knowledge of God and His Son Christ Jesus.
... and that's a fact.

The ***system*** will mis-direct much of your dedication to the Lord, while hiding truth from you.. as it steals your time, finances, or chasing growth programs, fund raisers, or meaningless rituals.

And after time passes, you may find yourself years down the road wondering “what happened?” and is this church activity really what it is all about?

You have a lot of company.

De-constructing Church: WHY SO MANY CHURCHES? Part 3

De-constructing Church: Part 3
-rory moore

Why so many churches?
Is the purpose to gather people, into a bigger "barn" and become part of a 501c3 Corporation separated from other groups and calling itself by another Name?

Is the Sunday showcase a Christian practice found in Scripture?
=>> The efforts for most of us was trying to get people into our building (church), most of which are powerless assemblies in the confused, competitive, conflicting, and too often corrupt church world.

(=>> and NO, >> *not* all are corrupt) :( .

 Building people not buildings.
To whom it may concern. Dear brethren:
From Paul speaking to EPHESIAN BISHOPS from the congregation at Ephesus.

Acts 20:
34 You yourselves know that
👉these hands (Paul's) ministered to my own needs
AND 👉 to the men who were with me.
35)
In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner
👉 you must help the weak
and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

The NLT renders:
35 And I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard.
You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus:
‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Paul told them to edify God's PEOPLE nothing about a nice facility.

In Acts, the people gatherings were together in homes mostly, "house to house"), the disciples walked in love for one another and power.
Here is a good word from a godly man on this.

NOTE THE WORDS "ONE ANOTHER", these are only a few of the many examples.
1 Corinthians 11:33  So then, my brethren, when you come together to eat, wait for one another.
1 Corinthians 12:25 so that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another.
1 Corinthians 16:20  All the brethren greet you. Greet *one another* with a holy kiss.
2 Corinthians 13:12  Greet *one another* with a holy kiss.
Galatians 5:13 For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh,
*but through love serve one another.*
Galatians 5:15  But if you bite and devour *one another*, take care that you are not consumed by one another.

A LOT of what we call "church" came from pagan, Roman religious life.

De-Constructing the "church", MEET WHERE? Part 2

De-Constructing the "church", Part 2
-rory moore

... Mat. 16:18 and the word church" is a hard word to "de-program" from. Jesus never taught it.
He taught "ekklesia", i.e. a gathering and congregation. To assemble.

By design and deception, we are conditioned to think of congregations in a church building as a "church".

But Jesus had taught them in Matthew 18:20 For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.
If that is true, and it is, then we might begin to rethink why a building, a mortgage, a 501c3, a staff, departments, Denomination organization, choir, fund-raising, remodels, and do a LOT of the typical trappings that we ourselves supported, did, and were part of for 24 years. Until the Lord called us out.

Please re-read the verse in Matthew until you grasp the simplicity.

Is there then any wonder that much of Jesus' own ministry took place in homes, outdoors, or in public?

-without all the "stuff" we *think* is desirable for a church service?
-in fact, study ACTS and see if YOU can find a "church service".

PLEASE, remember the disciples were Spirit-filled, preached the gospel, established congregations, saw thousands converted, prayed together, gathered together, baptized people, gave and shared of their substance, ordained elders, resolved doctrine matters, re-visited congregations they had birthed..
and consider what man has done in the name of "church" today..

The FACTS ARE IN ACTS.  There is a pattern to the "house"
In PART 3 (very short) you will find out more interesting things.

De-Constructing "Church", The Building is a Church? Part 1

De-Constructing "Church", Part 1
👉"I will build MY ***CHURCH?***? (Mat. 16)
-rory moore

Church is a hard word to "de-program" from, as I am likewise processing my own indoctrination from a building to a people congregation, and what Christ had in mind.
Did He really envision buildings with various Names, steeples, impressive architecture, or even the glitzy lights and smoke that enhance the modern "church" experience?

With 2,000 years of building tradition and the typical assembly, upon experiencing growth, usually and quickly thinks "we need a building". The building becomes the center, identity, and gathering place of an assembly, and an institution with a new name and identity is created.

But the history of the word "church" is from pagan architecture, not scripture,
👉 thus Jesus did not speak of "church" in terms of a building, nor did the disciples.
"Church" is a term MIS-translated by the KJV/Roman-influenced translators, and "synagogues" were buildings the Jews built to assemble in, however God never told them to build them.

EKKLESIA (mis-translated as "church":
I looked into it, it is a feminine noun, used 111 times.
"Definition:
-a gathering of citizens called out from their homes into some public place,
-an assembly

-an assembly of the people convened at the public place of the council for the purpose of deliberating in the assembly of the Israelites
-any gathering or throng of men assembled by chance,
in a Christian sense
-an assembly of Christians gathered for worship in a religious meeting

👉👉👉 -a company of Christian, or of those who, hoping for eternal salvation through Jesus Christ, observe their own religious rites, hold their own religious meetings, and manage their own affairs, according to regulations prescribed for the body for order's sake

-the whole body of Christians scattered throughout the earth
-the assembly of faithful Christians already dead and received into heaven"

As the gospel spread in Acts, not one church building was mentioned although they often met in homes and in public, and Paul often went into the synagogues to preach to un-converted Jews the message who Jesus is:

Acts 9: 20 and immediately he (Paul) began to proclaim Jesus in the synagogues, saying, “He is the Son of God......22) Jesus is the Christ".

"church" is a term MIS-translated by the KJV/Roman-influenced translators, and "synagogues" were buildings the Jews built to assemble in, but God never told them to build.

👉It was David and Solomon, who initiated a temple building in Jerusalem, but the LORD had directed a mobile tabernacle.
2 Sam. **7** is fascinating with that in mind, and you may want to read that..
So we forward to ACTS 7, and here is Stephen saying:
46 David found favor in God’s sight, and asked that he might find a dwelling place for the God of Jacob. 47 But it was Solomon who built a house for Him.

👉👉48 However, the Most High does not dwell in houses made by human hands; as the prophet says:
49 ‘Heaven is My throne, And earth is the footstool of My feet;
👉 What kind of house will you build for Me?’ says the Lord, ‘Or what place is there for My repose?
50 ‘Was it not My hand which made all these things?’
Since God does *not* need or live in a building, nor did Jesus direct His followers to build them, WHAT else might we find regarding the words "church", "tabernacle", "house", and "temple???
More truth about church vs ekklesia here

👉👉👉  In Part 2 you will see....."the Most High does not dwell in houses made by human hands; as the prophet says"... as we work to de-construct what man has built.
