Deconstructing Church LAW part 12 The Paint On Jezebel's Face

This post was in response to a pastor, another Judaizer, and a 7th Day Adventist, arguing on my page, that we are bound to keep a number of laws from the old Testament
-rory moore 2023

This I heard from God.

"THE PAINT ON JEZEBEL'S FACE WAS NOTHING COMPARED TO THE PAINT OF MAN'S RIGHTEOUSNESS WITH WHICH YOU HAVE PAINTED OVER THE FACE OF GOD".

"TASTE NOT TOUCH NOT HANDLE NOT, NOTHING IS UNCLEAN OF ITSELF. BUT TO THE PURE, ALL THINGS ARE PURE".

My responses were comprehensive from the  New Testament writers as they addressed what evidently had "bewitched" what Paul called the "foolish Galatians", and Philippians in regard to matters of the Torah given to Israel. I am sharing with you and feel free to pass  on.

This is only a part of my response, the full text has quite a bit of scripture, and was centered around Acts 15.

That is where the apostles debated the Judaizers who were "subverting" and "troubling" the churches.

Rightly dividing which Testament.

This is what Jesus had prepared his apostles to minister regarding the unfolding delivery of His gospel by His disciples.
He made it clear the instructions for the NEW Covenant through Christs body and blood would be the faith delivered through the apostles, not Moses.
Jesus prayed for those that would believe in Him through "their words", and thus he told them to wait in Jerusalem until they received power from on high.

This took place beginning in Acts 2 as the newly Spirit-baptized and empowered disciples took up where Jesus left off.

Only now it was the Spirit of Christ in them speaking powerfully through them in declaring the gospel and telling their world WHO Jesus is.

John 17:20 in several translations.
BRG Neither pray I for these (his apostles) alone, but for them also which shall believe on me thorough their word;
CSB “I pray not only for these, but also for those who believe in me through THEIR word.

As the apostles went on to preach, in the 10th chapter of Acts, for the first time ever, a group of gentiles would hear and believe.
But the words of the preacher (Peter) never re-iterated the diet laws, sabbath laws, the multitude of ordinances, tithing, Levitical priests, sacrifices, clothing laws, beard law, etc from the Torah. His message was simple, Jesus is the Christ who was resurrected from the dead by God.
And when they received the words of Peter, they were commanded to be water baptized into Jesus Christ.

but the people who did not understand the apostles obedience in delivering a NEW Testament, revert back to a Jewish Covenant, and cherry pick and think working to keep Moses law is being righteous. Even today, many are also "bewitched" into keeping laws and commands of men the apostles never gave the saints.

The "NEW" and BETTER WAY of FAITH and love is to walk in, and be led by God's Holy Spirit, and then you need not worry if you are breaking a law. You are more concerned about displeasing God and doing what He has called you to do.
The Lord is able to convict our conscience of sin and our response is to repent.

Matters such as gluttony, greed. anger, accusing people, wrongful judging people, gossiping, tale bearing, malice, and matters of the heart are things that defile, not meats.

A Christian that is sensitive and tender to the Lord will know when he or she has offended or grieved the Lord. They will feel the separation caused by their sin.
If we have a SIN problem, it really is a "not-walking-in-the Spirit-close enough to Jesus" problem, and the answer is to draw closer to Jesus.

These anti-Christ law men major on non-matters like forbidding meats, tithing, sabbath, when Jesus said the real issue is what is in people's HEART.
They continually point to law that Moses gave to ancient Israel.

I see them every week. Keep that sabbath, pork is sin, pay your tithes, forced attendance, and other observances.

If God's people choose to observe those they are free to do so, but if they do not, neither is to be judged. See Romans 14. Some of those rules lead to abuse and clergy control.

What Jesus said: Mark 7
7 Therefore, in vain do they worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.’

15 There is nothing from outside a man that, entering into him, can defile him;

but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.

20 And He said, “That which comes OUT of the man, that defiles the man.

21 For from the inside, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

22 thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

23 all these evil things come from the inside and defile the man.”

Please NOTICE Jesus said this in Mark 7:
For it doesn’t go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body.’
(In saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean.)
NKJV because it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and is eliminated, thus purifying all foods
NLV It does not go into his heart, but into his stomach and then on out of his body.” In this way, He was saying that all food is clean.
NLT Food doesn’t go into your heart, but only passes through the stomach and then goes into the sewer.”
(by saying this, he declared that every kind of food is acceptable in God’s eyes.)

We ourselves sojourned under similar laws for 11 years. So have many of you.

One of those laws made it sin for a woman to cut her hair, to not even a trim of split ends was permitted. They (we) used scripture too. From 1 Corinthians 11. We were bewitched and accepted that and quite a few more including tithing.

All those churchisms were couched in scripture that was perverted and misused. Peter called it "wrestling with the scriptures to their own destruction".

Paul rebuked the "foolish Galatians" for their error, calling them "bewitched".

In 1992 I heard the Lord as we were seeking to "prove" whether our legalisms were true. He spoke to me words I KNEW were not mine as I heard Him prophetically while I was at work.

Immediately I put down my tools and hurried to the truck to write these down.

"THE PAINT ON JEZEBEL'S FACE WAS NOTHING COMPARED TO THE PAINT OF MAN'S RIGHTEOUSNESS WITH WHICH YOU HAVE PAINTED OVER THE FACE OF GOD".

-Then He said "TASTE NOT TOUCH NOT HANDLE NOT, NOTHING IS UNCLEAN OF ITSELF. BUT TO THE PURE, ALL THINGS ARE PURE"

He had my attention, and the power of those words are forever etched on my heart. We were by grace, led to repent of our Pentecostal legalisms, and come out from that rule-driven sect.

May you live in the royal law of love and the perfect law of liberty.
