the Fall of Jericho Shows The Last Days

the Fall of Jericho Shows The Last Days
by rory moore

God hid a wonderful rehearsal of the end time in chapter 6 of Joshua which reveals major end-time events in order.  The details are so amazing, the divine authorship and hidden revelations are marvelous beyond the minds of men.
Joshua: the 6th book of the Bible. Joshua (Joshua a man, was a pre-figure for Jesus) who led the saints to take the kingdom, his name “Joshua” is also rendered “Yeshua”.  The remarkable history of Israel and the fall of the city of Jericho as the Israelites marched in to the Promised Land after the death of Moses is found in the 6th book of the Bible, Joshua.

Jericho fell in the 6th chapter of Joshua, the 6th book of scripture. There is a hidden parable for the end of the rule of the kingdoms of man over the world, i.e. the judgment upon 6-6-6.
(Six is also the number of man who was created on the 6th day (Gen 1:26-31), and given authority over the earth.

The first creation of Adam is also judged in the 6th chapter of Genesis.  “Adam” the father of the natural man who is carnal, and of the earth, has had dominion for 6 thousand years, which are allegorically called “days” by the apostle Peter.) Therefore we are now at the very end of the 6th millennial “day” of 1,000 years since Adam, and entering the third millennial “day” since Christ.  This is a remarkable convergence of time and we may see some fascinating parallels in Joshua.

Jericho's fall was foretold to Joshua.
Joshua 6:1-6 New American Bible (Revised Edition) (NABRE)
Now Jericho was in a state of siege because of the presence of the Israelites. No one left or entered, the city was locked in.
And to Joshua the Lord said: I have delivered Jericho, its king, and its warriors into your power.
Have all the soldiers circle the city, marching once around it. Do this for six days, with seven priests carrying ram’s horns ahead of the ark. On the seventh day march around the city seven times, and have the priests blow the horns.
When the priests give a long blast on the ram’s horns and you hear the sound of the horn, all the people shall shout aloud. The wall of the city will collapse, and the people shall attack straight ahead.

Let's take note of "seven times". It is used in numerous places to allegorize and indicate "years".
The walls of Jericho would fall at the last trump after seven "times" around the city and 7 trumps sounded.
"Times":  The king of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar, was given the mind of a beast for 7 years:
Daniel 4:16 let his heart be changed from man's, and let a beast's heart be given him; and let seven times pass over him.
ð  Here is "time"; "times" and "half a time" is used for 3-1/2 years:
Daniel 7:25 ..he shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High; and he shall think to change the times and the law; and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and half a time.
And in Revelation 12:14 And there were given to the woman the two wings of the great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness unto her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
Leviticus 26:18 And if ye will not yet for these things hearken unto me, then I will chastise you seven times more for your sins. Leviticus 26:24 ...then I also walk contrary unto you; and I will strike you, even I, seven times for your sins.

Parallels:
"every man straight before him." Which is also a double prophecy of the coming of the Lord and of a disciples walk in which we are to follow after Christ and His Word “looking neither to the right nor the left” at the world around us.
Luke 3:4 As it is written ...in Isaiah the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
And as the Israelites were commanded:
Deuteronomy 2:27 Let me pass through thy land (the world of unbelievers):
I will go along by the highway (the Way of the Lord Jesus),
I will turn neither unto the right hand nor to the left ( politics included).

Jericho was burned with fire in its judgment. Joshua 6:24 And they burnt the city with fire.
After the saints go "up", the world will be burnt in judgment as the saints are with the Lord, possibly in a safe haven on earth as Israel was in Goshen when the Lord judged the Egyptians.
2Peter 3:7 But the heavens that now are, and the earth, by the same word have been stored up for fire, being reserved against the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

A synopsis of the rapture:
The last trump sounds, the Lord descends, saints are gathered to Him, and come to take the kingdoms of this world.
In Revelation, the 7th trump follows the other 6 trumps of Rev. 8.
The 7th trump is the last trump.
1 Cor 15:52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

From numerous verses "times" are shown as years, so when we read "seven times" we are able to see seven years in a later fulfillment.
With the foundation of terms and meanings, let's go to the prophecy hidden in the fall of Jericho!
(1) Jericho is shut up and in fear of the coming of Joshua and the saints.

Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel:
Luke 21:26 men fainting for fear, and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world.
(2) Joshua is leading the saints to conquer.  (Joshua means Jesus who is "the captain of our salvation")
Hebrews 2:10 ...in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

Jericho the city is circled for 7 days:
(15) And it came to pass on the seventh day, they rose early at the dawning of the day
(the 7th day represents the 7th year of tribulation)
"only on the day they compassed the city seven times."

The Israelite people of God thus circled Jericho seven times and sounded seven trumpets, then the end  came. >>>Thus, on the "last day" the saints circle the world with the gospel of the kingdom seven "times" i.e., years.

There is a smaller "snapshot" of the larger event given on the 7th day.
Jericho is a smaller "type" of the whole world, and this is a picture of the gospel of the kingdom being preached to the whole world before the end.
Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world (i.e.around the world) for a testimony unto all the nations; and then shall the end come.

In the seven year tribulation, the saints will keep the feast of unleavened bread.
This means the saints will ONLY eat the pure Word of God. No human reasoning, traditions, or manmade explanations will be permitted by the Lord.
(10) And Joshua commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor let your voice be heard, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout.
The trumpet (the sound of the gospel being given by the NT priests) will give only the sound of the pure gospel of the kingdom by the breath of His Spirit.
(16)   And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew the trumpets,

The priests in the New Testament are shown in  Revelation 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father.
Romans 10:18 But I say, Did they not hear? Yea, verily, Their sound went out into all the earth, And their words unto the ends of the world.

The "Shout"
(16) Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD has given you the city.
20   So the people shouted,  and the priests blew the trumpets; and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, that the people shouted with a great shout,

At Jericho there is a GREAT SHOUT.
(5) "when they make a long blast with the ram`s horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout   -then the walls of the city FELL!
1st Thess 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, with a shout
(20) ... the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.

Here is Jericho, a foreshadowing of "city of terrible nations", the world, falls
Joshua: 6:16 And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew the trumpets, Joshua said to the people, Shout!; for The Lord has given you the city.
Then:
4   And seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams` horns before the ark: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets.

Revelation 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded..there followed great voices in heaven, and they said, The kingdom of the world is become the kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ:
1st Cor 15:52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound
Rev. 16:18 and ... there was a great earthquake, ..., so great an earthquake, so mighty.
19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell.

At Jericho,  the last trump sounded, there was a great earthquake, the city walls fell, and the saints went up and took the city.
At the end of the seven years, the last trump of God sounds, there is a great earthquake, the saints go up in the rapture, and the Lord takes possession of the Kingdom.

Rev. 11:15   The kingdom of the world is become the kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ,
and Daniel shows the saints taking the kingdom:
Daniel 7:18    But the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.  ("God has given you the city")
(20)  So the people shouted, and the priests blew the trumpets; and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, that the people shouted with a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.

At Jericho there was a remnant saved from the house of the harlot.
Joshua 6:25 But Rahab the harlot, and her father`s household, and all that she had, did Joshua save alive (Jesus saves an obedient remnant from the Rev. 18:4 spiritual house of the harlot church.)
Rahab is a figure for the "harlot church" who has received the "seed" of men, i.e. their traditions and leaven.

The harlot church is judged in Revelation 17 and 18 after God's people come out of her:
17 only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.
Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come forth, my people, out of her, that ye have no fellowship with her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues:

Even the two witnesses of Revelation are there:
Joshua 6:22 And Joshua said unto the two men that had spied out the land, Go into the harlot`s house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as you swore to her.
Rev. 11 3 And I will give unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
The ark of the Covenant is seen at the end, at the fall of Jericho.
Joshua 6:13 And the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams` horns before the ark of Jehovah went on continually, and blew the trumpets: and the armed men went before them; and the rearward came after the ark of The Lord, the priests blowing the trumpets as they went.
(NIV) 13 The seven priests carrying the seven trumpets went forward, marching before the ark of the LORD and blowing the trumpets. The armed men went ahead of them and the rear guard followed the ark of the LORD, while the trumpets kept sounding.

The ark of the Covenant is seen.
The church is the temple, and at the time when Christ is revealed in His people "at the revelation of Jesus Christ"..

The true temple will reveal where the ark of the Covenant is.
1Cor 3:17 ... for the temple of God is holy, and such are ye. 3:16 Know ye not that ye are a temple
1Peter 5:1 The elders among you I exhort, who am a fellow-elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, who am also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed.
Ephesians 5:27 that he might present the church to himself a glorious church...
1st Peter 4:13 But insomuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings, rejoice; that at the revelation of his glory also ye may rejoice with exceeding joy.

The ark of THE COVENANT is revealed in God's remnant at the end...
2Thessalonians 1:10 when he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at in all them that believed
Rev 11:19 And there was opened the temple of God that is in heaven; and there was seen in his temple the ark of his covenant; and there followed lightning, and voices, and thunders, and an earthquake, and great hail.

The reconciliation of the churches spiritual fathers, the born-again Jewish disciples is in Joshua
Joshua 6:25 But Rahab the harlot, and her father`s household, and all that she had, did Joshua save alive; and she dwelt in the midst of Israel unto this day, because she hid the messengers, whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.

Rahab means:  proud; quarrelsome,  large; extended (name of a woman).  The majority (large-extended)  of Christianity is Rahab the harlot. Rahab is sectarian, fragmented, competitive, denominated (lit. proud, quarrelsome).

Rahab, saved at the fall of Jericho, was not Jewish but was saved by a Jewish deliverer (Joshua).
"Joshua" is "Yeshua", which becomes "Jesus" in the New Testament language.
The harlot church, still sitting in the midst of NT spiritual Israel is with us "unto THIS day".

Joshua 6:23 So the young men who were spies went in and brought out Rahab and her father and her mother and her brothers and all she had; they also brought out all her relatives and placed them outside the camp of Israel.

Ephesians 2:19 ... but ye are fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the household of God
Romans 11:5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. 23 And they also, if they continue not in their unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.

The 12 Tribes of Israel present at the fall of Jericho.

A "Judas" character sell-out and antichrist type was hidden in the body of Israel, causing great loss.
Josh 7:1 ..Achan the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed; and the anger of the Lord was kindled against the children of Israel. vs 21: ...the spoils a goodly Babylonian garment and two hundred shekels of silver and a wedge of gold and I took.."

He was judged and he and his family were put to death, and burned in fire.
The corporate bodies of Judas in the end will suffer the same.

A Restored Remnant of The Twelve Tribes of Israel are found in Revelation at the fall of the world.
Rev. 7:4 ...a hundred and forty and four thousand, sealed out of every tribe of the children of Israel:
Rev 14:1  ..I saw, and behold, the Lamb standing on the mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty and four thousand, having his name, and the name of his Father, written on their foreheads.

Joshua 6:20  So the people shouted, and the priests blew the trumpets; and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, that the people shouted with a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.

On the 7th day, the 7 priests blew 7 trumps.
In Mat. 24:31, 1Cor. 15:52, 1Thess. 4:16, The LAST trump sounds right before the gathering,"rapture".

Every man was to go "straight before him", thus "making his paths straight"  at the coming of the Lord:
Mark 1:3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make ye ready the way of the Lord, Make his paths straight.

Here are two "rapture" verses that parallel the "last trump in Joshua 6:20:
1st Corinthians 15:52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1st Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first;

At the "rapture", the saints go up overcoming the world.
In Joshua 6, the gospel of the kingdom went around the city, at the last trump, there was a great shout, the city walls fell, "people shouted with a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city."

"So THAT THE PEOPLE WENT  >>> UP<<< "   vs.20
The fall of Jericho pre-shadows so beautifully.

Just as Old Testament Israel later fell into spiritual harlotry and fell away into apostasy and was desolated by Jesus (behold, your house is made desolate..." Mat. 23:38),
so has most of NT (New Testament) Israel also fallen away into sectarian apostasy and is warned of "the abomination of desolation" (see Mark 13:14/ 2Thess 2:4/ Mat 24:15)
